Basically, a practice race. Whether you’re an experienced bike racer or new and simply curious about bike racing, you’re welcome to participate in this free cycling get-together.
The first lap will be ridden all together as a no-drop warmup. As the bunch passes “start / finish” to start lap two, it’s “go” and the next 3 laps are ridden as a race, complete with drafting, tactics, teams working together and so forth. Including the Lap 1 warmup, the distance totals 46 miles.
The goal of these weekly winter training sessions is to test yourself in a race-like setting but with less expectation of success or failure. Probably harder than your local group ride but maybe not as hard as the traditional Texas road races coming up. A perfect warmup if you wish to give bike racing a go.
